Yard and perimeter protection for commercial and industrial sites
NOX combines suitable external detection, CCTV and internal protection around vehicle yards, compounds, gates, loading areas and exposed boundaries. The design considers normal site movement and false-alarm risks before devices are positioned.

Earlier warning is useful only when normal movement and the boundary are understood
Vehicles, staff, wildlife, public access, vegetation, neighbouring activity, lighting and the shape of the site can all affect external detection. CCTV and perimeter devices should be layered around the actual route of approach.
- ✓ Gate and entrance coverage
- ✓ Yard and compound CCTV
- ✓ Suitable external motion detection
- ✓ Boundary and approach review
- ✓ Vehicle-route consideration
- ✓ External sirens and warning devices
- ✓ Alarm monitoring options
- ✓ Maintenance and seasonal checks
Survey, design, installation and ongoing support
Boundary and movement survey
We review routes, gates, public areas, vehicles, animals, vegetation, lighting and the current security layers.
Layered design
CCTV, external detection, internal alarms and user response are selected to complement one another.
Positioning and testing
Devices are installed and tested around realistic movement, approach direction and site conditions.
Review and maintenance
Users are shown event handling, and external devices can be included in planned servicing and seasonal checks.
System decisions linked to the operational requirement
External detection
Suitable devices can identify movement before the building is reached, but correct positioning is essential to reduce unwanted activations.
CCTV verification
Live and recorded views help staff or keyholders understand what happened and which area requires attention.
Lighting and visibility
Existing or planned lighting affects camera performance and the ability to capture useful detail after dark.
Monitoring and response
The customer’s keyholder process and suitable professional monitoring route should be clear before the system is commissioned.
What affects the commercial quotation
The final price reflects the site, system, access and operational requirements confirmed during the survey.
- ✓ Boundary length and number of approaches
- ✓ External detector quantities
- ✓ Camera positions and night lighting
- ✓ Gates, vehicles and normal movement
- ✓ Power, network and communication
- ✓ Mounting and access
- ✓ Monitoring route
- ✓ Several buildings or phases

Perimeter Alarm Protection for an Industrial Site near Dronfield
The Dronfield site contained open approaches, working areas and stored materials that could be reached before an intruder entered the main building. Internal alarm detection alone would therefore have provided warning too late in the sequence. NOX surveyed the genuine routes into the site, selected positions around the yard and covered areas, installed five Ajax outdoor detectors and an external warning siren, then tested the individual perimeter zones around the way the industrial premises operates each day.

Industrial CCTV and Intruder Protection in Chesterfield
This Chesterfield industrial unit required a joined-up security system that could provide useful recorded coverage around the building while also strengthening the premises with modern intruder protection. The camera design was based on the shape of the unit, the roller-door elevation, parking and vehicle movement, exposed corners and the external approaches used during normal operation. NOX combined the CCTV and alarm work into one coordinated industrial-security project, with the finished positions selected for practical evidence rather than simply adding cameras wherever access was easiest.

Thirteen-camera commercial CCTV installation
This active scrapyard and vehicle-parts site needed wider recorded coverage across several buildings, open yard routes, workshop entrances and densely stored stock. NOX designed and installed a thirteen-camera commercial CCTV system, using individual camera positions rather than relying on a small number of overly broad views.

Professional planning, installation and local support
“We recently had NOX install cameras, smoke screens, and alarms at our office and the whole experience has been spot on from start to finish. From the very first phone call with Isaac, everything felt straightforward and reassuring. He took the time to explain our options, answered all our questions, and helped design a system that made sense for our building and our budget. No pushy sales tactics at all, which was refreshing. The installation was smooth, the team were professional, and even after everything was fitted, Isaac has been on hand to help with any follow-up questions. A really great service and a company I'd happily recommend.”Nathan De La RosaCommercial CCTV, Alarms & Smoke Screens

“We had NOX Fire & Security install our commercial fire alarm system alongside an intruder alarm, and the whole experience was spot on from start to finish. Clean, professional installation, everything clearly explained, and the system is easy to manage through the app with instant alerts. The fire system is clear, reliable and easy for the team to manage without overcomplicating things. No pushy sales, no unnecessary contracts — just honest advice and proper workmanship. You can tell they care about doing things right. Highly recommend NOX for any business looking for fire or security systems in Chesterfield / Sheffield.”Rory StirlandCommercial Fire Alarm & Intruder Alarm
Answers before a commercial survey
Can perimeter detection protect a commercial yard?
Yes, where the site can be surveyed and devices positioned around normal movement, vehicles, animals and boundaries.
Does perimeter detection replace CCTV?
No. Detection alerts to movement; CCTV provides visual context and recorded evidence. They often work best as separate layers.
Can the system distinguish every person from an animal?
Technology can reduce unwanted activations, but no design should promise perfect classification in every external condition. Position and site management remain important.
Can yard alarms be professionally monitored?
Suitable systems can use professional signalling, subject to compatibility, maintenance and the agreed response route.
Do external detectors need maintenance?
Yes. Device condition, alignment, obstruction, vegetation and event history should be reviewed as part of planned maintenance.
