Security for garages, outbuildings, gates and detached areas
Detached garages, workshops, garden buildings and longer driveways often need more than a standard house-alarm layout. NOX assesses distance, communication, power, access and the value or activity within each area before designing the protection.

Separate buildings need reliable communication and the right detection method
The design may use door protection, movement detection, MotionCam, external detection, CCTV, sirens or a combination. Signal range, construction, power, weather exposure and how the space is used determine the sensible route.
- ✓ Detached garage alarm protection
- ✓ Workshop and garden-building coverage
- ✓ Gate and driveway approaches
- ✓ CCTV for vehicles and external areas
- ✓ External detection where suitable
- ✓ Signal and power assessment
- ✓ Night-mode and part-arm options
- ✓ One app or joined-up handover where compatible
From survey to handover and ongoing support
Site and distance review
We inspect the main house, detached spaces, boundaries, routes, construction and likely communication obstacles.
Layered design
Alarm detection, CCTV, external protection and control are selected around each area rather than treated as one room.
Range and installation checks
Power, network, radio range, cable routes, mounting positions and weather exposure are confirmed.
Handover by area
Users are shown how to arm, view and manage the house and external spaces without making daily use complicated.
Installation, operation and long-term support
Alarm protection
Door contacts, movement detection and photo verification can protect the building before or after entry depending on the design.
Perimeter warning
Suitable external detectors can identify movement around driveways, gates or approaches before the main building is reached.
CCTV evidence
Cameras can provide live and recorded views of vehicles, access points, paths and vulnerable external areas.
Phased expansion
Larger properties can be delivered in stages where the core system, coverage and future capacity are planned properly from the start.
What affects the final quotation
The correct price depends on the property, system and work required. NOX confirms the scope before presenting equipment and installation costs.
- ✓ Distance from the main property
- ✓ Construction and radio conditions
- ✓ Power and network availability
- ✓ Number of doors, rooms and external areas
- ✓ Required CCTV recording
- ✓ Gates, boundaries and vehicle approaches

Ajax Alarm and CCTV Installation for a Chesterfield Home
This Chesterfield property was being renovated and needed a security system planned around both the risk and the finished look of the home. The customer wanted protection across the main house, garage and external approaches, but standard white equipment would have stood out against the darker frames and brickwork. NOX combined Ajax intruder protection with black external CCTV, a matching keypad, recording equipment and a branded warning device, then configured the system around straightforward household use.

Perimeter Alarm Protection for an Industrial Site near Dronfield
The Dronfield site contained open approaches, working areas and stored materials that could be reached before an intruder entered the main building. Internal alarm detection alone would therefore have provided warning too late in the sequence. NOX surveyed the genuine routes into the site, selected positions around the yard and covered areas, installed five Ajax outdoor detectors and an external warning siren, then tested the individual perimeter zones around the way the industrial premises operates each day.

Industrial CCTV and Intruder Protection in Chesterfield
This Chesterfield industrial unit required a joined-up security system that could provide useful recorded coverage around the building while also strengthening the premises with modern intruder protection. The camera design was based on the shape of the unit, the roller-door elevation, parking and vehicle movement, exposed corners and the external approaches used during normal operation. NOX combined the CCTV and alarm work into one coordinated industrial-security project, with the finished positions selected for practical evidence rather than simply adding cameras wherever access was easiest.

Love how personalised it is, and being able to control my heating, washing machine and lights all from the same security app is a game changer. Clear answers before you commit
Can an Ajax alarm protect a detached garage?
Often yes, but distance, construction, signal conditions and hub capacity must be checked at the property.
Can a garage have its own keypad or controls?
Suitable Ajax systems can use additional control devices, tags or app permissions depending on the final design.
Can CCTV and an alarm cover the same outbuilding?
Yes. Alarm detection and CCTV solve different parts of the requirement and can be designed together.
What if there is no internet in the outbuilding?
The answer depends on the system type. Some alarm devices communicate with the main hub, while CCTV may need cabling, wireless bridging or another network solution.
Can you protect gates and driveways?
Yes, using suitable CCTV, external detection or a combination after the approach, boundaries, animals and normal movement have been considered.
